1. PITCH COMPETITION (1 PITCH)

The Austin Film Festival and Conference is excited to announce the 6th Annual Pitch Competition this year. This is the opportunity of a lifetime as contestants are given only 90 seconds to give their best pitch to a panel of judges made up of agents, producers and managers in this fast-paced environment.

The top two finalists from each mini-session (8 sessions in all) will go on to participate in the Pitch Finale Party on Saturday, October 18th . The overall winner will receive a Producers Badge for the 2009 Festival. You’ll get one pitch with this package.

Did you know that last year Scott Richter ’s pitch made it to the finals and is being now pursued as a feature by AFF 2007 judge Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Shrek, Déjà Vu, Aladdin)?

2. AWARDS LUNCHEON

The Austin Film Festival Awards Luncheon will take place on Saturday, October 18th, at The Austin Club. Winners in both categories of the Screenplay and Teleplay Competitions will be announced along with the winners of the Film Competition. ( Film Competitions include Narrative, Documentary, Animated, Student Shorts and Narrative and Documentary Features.)

The Awards Luncheon will also honor Extraordinary Contribution to Filmmaking Award, Distinguished Screenwriter Award and Outstanding Television Award. Enjoy a delicious lunch, cocktails and many fine speeches!

Refund requests for the Festival must be in writing, postmarked by July 6th, 2008, and all refunds will incur a $75 processing fee. After July 6th, 2008, all payments are non-refundable for any reason, including, but not limited to illness, acts of God, or travel related problems. Badges are non-transferable and are the property of the Austin Film Festival, Inc. Unused registrations cannot be credited for future year’s attendance.
